Day Trips From Jupiter

Jupiter's location on the northern edge of Palm Beach County puts several very different day-trip options within about an hour's drive.

Jupiter sits at the northern end of Palm Beach County, which makes it a convenient base for day trips in a few different directions.

Palm Beach & West Palm Beach

About 30-40 minutes south, Palm Beach offers upscale shopping along Worth Avenue and beachfront estates worth a scenic drive, while West Palm Beach has a livelier downtown (Clematis Street) with restaurants, waterfront parks, and regular events.

Stuart & the Treasure Coast

About 30 minutes north, Stuart has a walkable, historic downtown along the St. Lucie River with local shops and restaurants, a quieter, small-town alternative to a beach day.

Lake Okeechobee

Roughly an hour west, Florida's largest lake offers a very different landscape: freshwater fishing, the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail for biking, and a slower-paced, rural side of the state.

The Everglades

Further south and west (around 60-90 minutes depending on the entry point), the northern Everglades offer airboat tours, wildlife viewing, and hiking trails, a fuller day trip rather than a quick add-on.

Practical notes

  • Traffic on I-95 and the Turnpike can add significant time during rush hour or snowbird season (roughly December through April). Build in buffer time.
  • Several of these trips (especially the Everglades) are worth planning as a dedicated day rather than pairing with other Jupiter activities.
